An influencial  politician from  western Kenya region who is also associated with a clearing and forwarding firm based in Mombasa has hatched a plot to create artificial sugar shortage in the country.

The politician who is a first timer in the tenth parliament  is also said to be behind the recently  condemned maize saga where he allegedly pocketed a whooping 20m.

He is also alleged to have   recruited goons [arsonists]in the sugar-belt zones to burn immature canes and ultimately deprive the factories of the much needed raw materials.

Sources privy to the operations of the said politician confides that  unscrupulous wealthy Mombasa based sugar barons have already finalised plans to bring in sugar worth a  whooping  ksh. 9B to sell in the market during the stage managed shortfall.

The novice but shrewd politician will as a result gain by levying   twenty per cent as clearing fees which is equevalent to a staggering ksh.45m.

Investigations further reveals that already Mumias zone has so far lost over 4000 hectors of cane to arsonists related attacks.

Another half of its nuclear estates has further been destroyed by the said hirelings all in abid to deprive the zone factory of raw materials.

It has further emerged that the scheme has also got the nod of influencial forces in the corridors of power and their dreams to make a kill to the tune of billions will soon  be a reality, thanks to the conspiracy .

For starters, reports of mysterious fire incidents have become the hallmark of everything with the government also remaining adamant to offer a lasting solution to the farmers predicament.

Whenever there is an artificial sugar shortage, unscrupulous traders always take advantage of the situation to make quick money at the expense of the hapless Kenyans who toil to earn livelihood.
