Buffalo Spring National Reserve

The reserve offers a unique vista of rounded hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animals and birdlife.
Buffalo springs records over 365 species of bird. They include; helmeted and vulturine guinea fowls, sandgrouse and doves in addition to a galaxy of smaller birds.
Game includes reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra, elephant, black rhino, ground squirrel, oryx, Somali ostrich, hippo, crocodile,gerenuk, buffalo, lion,leopard, cheetah and hyena.
Accomodation is found in the Samburu Game lodge sited on the edge of the Uaso Nyiro River.
