Accra (Ghana) - Though not fully over - due to a run-off - we can pat ourselves on the back for a job well done! Election 2008 has passed off peacefully and Ghana has come out once more as an African pace-setter. All the election observers who monitored the elections have given Ghana full marks which we can all justifiably be proud of.
We all played a part in this feat by preaching peace and non-violence before, during and after the elections. Though in every election, there are winners and losers, progress comes only when all involved put country first and prosecute an agenda of unity and development.
We just may have a situation, after the run-off, where our Executive and Legislative wings of governance would be controlled by different parties.
This will place on us the huge task of forging consensus on many issues to grow the country. Let us look forward with hope then to the run-off, and whatever the outcome, if attained through peaceful and non-violent means we will all accept in good faith to move the country forward...
